Wonderful book, to say the least

I just finished reading Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge and it was such a good book.  It was so healing, empowering, humbling.  I now see how God sees me, and not how I've seen myself for so long.  It does talk a lot about horrible childhoods and horrible marriages, neither of which I had/have, but I did have a few instances in my life that left marks.  This book allowed me to forgive those people in my past that left wounds on my heart, and therefore begin to heal.

I could feel God's presence when I was reading this book.  He was right there, translating for me, when the human aspect got in the way of my understanding.  I just can't say enough good things about this book.

I'd write a full review, but then I might feel I'm back in school, which if you know me, you'll know that school is the last place I want to be.  LOL!

Surgery... Done!

I don't have any specifics, but I am out of surgery and doing well!  The only real pain I have are these stinkin' gas bubbles in my abdomen.  Blech!  When I know more, I'll post again.  Thanks for all the prayers!

Romans 5:1-11 (NIV)

Just because God's word says it better than I can...

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."

It's hard to explain the love of God to someone who doesn't want to understand it.  The only thing we can do, is live our life in accordance to His will and plan, live it lovingly, and hope that maybe they can see His love through us.

She is a dancing queen...

Savannah started dance last month and she loves it!  From getting on her leotard to walking in the door with just a kiss from mommy (this is HUGE!) she enjoys her entire time at dance.  A few weeks ago I snapped these shots (not professional in the least, so don't pay attention to that...) before dance, mostly because we had time to kill.  She was such a ham!  I wish I would've had the video camera out instead.  You can still get the idea though.  You can tell she was dancing and singing.  LOL!
